Breanne & Stewart Engaged in Saskatoon
Breanne is marrying Stewart tomorrow. You may be wondering why I’m only posting the engagement photos the day before the wedding. The answer is that Breanne lives in Saskatoon and her fiancé Stewart is from just outside of London, England. He arrived a week and a half ago, so we wasted no time getting in the engagement shoot.
We spent an afternoon together wandering around various buildings at the University of Saskatchewan making photographs. With this uncharacteristic Saskatchewan winter we’re having, we were also able to get a few shots outside. I promised Breanne and Stewart that I would have their engagement photos completed by the time they got married, so here they are.
These are my favourites from the afternoon.
The Lara Family
It was Connie’s birthday, and her daughter-in-law Alison told me that she hadn’t had her photo taken in over twenty five years. The whole family decided that family photos would be the perfect gift. I met the Laras at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon a few weeks ago. This seemed like a good location for the shoot since Connie and Cesar’s two sons and their wives had attended the UofS at one time or another.
We wandered throughout the campus and stopped to make some photographs as we found interesting locations. And I can safely say that this is the first time a shoot has ever erupted into a Kung Fu match. I had a great time with Connie and Cesar, Patrick and Ashlee, and Gerald and Alison on that Sunday afternoon. It’s always a pleasure to photograph a great family in an informal setting.
Here are some of my favourite shots from the afternoon.
Christy & Harley Married in Saskatoon
Christy and Harley really wanted a laid back wedding. They saw this as an opportunity to have a great time with their good friends and family. Their wedding was at Boffins Club at Innovation Place in Saskatoon. I met them at the gardens a few hours before their ceremony and reception so we could make some photographs together. The weather couldn’t decide if it was going to rain or not, but we managed to get through it completely dry.
The festivities inside Boffins Club were super relaxed, and everyone had a great time mingling and snacking. Christy and Harley got in lots of visiting before they kicked off the ceremony. The speeches that followed really showed just how much their family and friends care for them. I’m glad I had the opportunity to be part of their celebration.

Sharlene & Kelly’s Saskatoon Engagement
You may remember Sharlene from a lifestyle shoot that we did together last year. I was very excited when she contacted me this summer to tell me that she was getting married. She asked me if I’d photograph the day she weds her fiancée Kelly this coming winter.
For their engagement photos they wanted to have some shots with the Victoria Bridge in the background since it’s probably not going to be around Saskatoon much longer. I thought that was an excellent idea. Once we finished up down by River Landing we made our way out of town to their gorgeous new acreage where we finished off the evening together.
Here are some of my favourite photographs from the evening, and be sure to also check out their high definition slideshow.
Stormy & Patrick’s Saskatoon Wedding
Whenever I think of Stormy and Patrick I will always remember how much they laughed. During their engagement shoot this past July I’m not sure there was a moment that these two weren’t laughing. This gave me a pretty good idea of what their wedding day was going to be like. They just wanted their wedding to be a party for their family and friends. Patrick at one moment told their wedding coordinators that they, “were turning his party into a wedding.” That made me smile.
Their ceremony was at the Red Barn at the Willows Golf & Country Club in Saskatoon, and the weather couldn’t have been better. The sun was shining brightly as they took their vows. Right after the ceremony the wedding party and I took off to make some photographs in a couple of different locations in the city.
Before we knew it we were out of time and made our way back to the Willows for dinner, and the remainder of the party. Here’s what their wedding day looked like. Also be sure to check out their high definition slideshow.
